A striking son of Toronado, Leading Ride begins his next chapter with Imagine Racing. Share the anticipation, follow his progress and enjoy the moments along the way.
Why we love this gelding
With his rich bay coat and distinctive white blaze, Leading Ride certainly catches the eye. His early promise on the track makes us excited to welcome him to Imagine Racing.
His sire, Toronado, was a top-class miler, winning the Group 1 Sussex Stakes and Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot. A son of High Chaparral, he has gone on to sire Group 1 winners in Australia and internationally, including Masked Crusader and Mariamia.
On his dam’s side, Leading Ride is out of Jentico, a six-time winner who earned more than $264,000 on the track. She is by Australian champion sire Written Tycoon, whose progeny include Golden Slipper winner Capitalist and Blue Diamond winner Written By.
This pedigree brings together Toronado’s international class and the Australian speed influence of Written Tycoon—a combination that adds to his appeal as a young racing prospect.
Already placed at Murray Bridge and Balaklava, Leading Ride has racing experience behind him and is still early in his career. With Aaron Bain and Ned Taylor guiding his development, we look forward to sharing his progress and the excitement of race day with his Imagine Racing owners.
