Why we love this gelding
Beautifully balanced, with a strong shoulder and hindquarter, great bone and an athletic walk, this colt caught our eye. Add a lovely head, an alert expression and a kind temperament, and he brings together the qualities we look for when selecting horses for Imagine Racing.
By champion sprinter Blue Point, he carries the influence of a sire whose first crop produced Group 1 winners Rosallion, Big Evs and Kind Of Blue, demonstrating his ability to produce both precocious speed and horses who develop into elite performers.
Blue Point’s progeny have been on fire this Spring. Point Barrow claimed her second consecutive Group 3 victory in the Northwood Plume Stakes at Caulfield, while Gerringong completed a same-day stakes double for her sire in the Group 3 Nivison Stakes at Rosehill on 10 October. A week later, Milsons Point added the Listed Gothic Stakes at Caulfield—three Australian stakes winners in eight days.
On the dam’s side, Tomorrow’s Dream was a three-time winner in Britain over approximately 1200–1600 metres, successful as a two-year-old and placed at Listed level. She brings her own racecourse ability to a maternal family with considerable depth.
His third dam, Irresistible Jewel, won the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot and produced Irish St Leger winner Royal Diamond and champion filly Princess Highway. With Oasis Dream as his maternal grandsire, there is another distinguished sprinting influence in the mix. We particularly like this balance of Blue Point’s speed with a female family rich in middle-distance quality.
As our first purchase as a licensed syndicator, he holds a special place in the Imagine Racing story. We’re offering him as an all-women-owned horse, with his Magic Millions race series nomination fully paid. The men are welcome to share in every moment, too—it’s simply the ladies whose names will be on the ownership paperwork.
For us, his combination of pedigree, physical quality and temperament made him a compelling purchase. We were delighted to bring him home to Angaston, and we can’t wait to share what comes next.
